ISLAMABAD, March 13 (Xinhua) -- At least six people were killed and five others injured in a U.S. drone strike launched Sunday night in Pakistan's northwest tribal area of North Waziristan, reported local Urdu TV channel Geo.
According to the report, the U.S. drones fired four missiles at a hideout and another two missiles at a car in the Miranshah area of North Waziristan, a place believed to be a stronghold of militants in Pakistan, which borders Afghanistan.
The latest strike is second of its kind on Sunday and the 20th of its kind since the beginning of this year. To date, a total of 98 people have reportedly been killed in such strikes since this year.
Earlier on Sunday morning, a U.S. drone strike reportedly killed four people in the neighboring tribal area of South Waziristan.
Both North Waziristan and South Waziristan are considered to be strongholds of militants in Pakistan, from which militants often launch attacks on the US-led NATO troops in Afghanistan across the Pakistani side.
