关于《东海暴风雨》

该作品是“文化乌镇”推出的首部乌镇驻地创作“1+ 1”作品，该项目旨在扶持和鼓励年轻艺术家的创作热情及所付出的努力，同时也将进一步推动“乌镇戏剧孵化基地”项目。导演任明炀是2013年首届乌镇戏剧节“青年竞赛”单元的参赛者之一。该剧作为青年艺术家驻地创作序幕，将于今年乌镇戏剧节的最后一天上演。

作品改编自威廉·莎士比亚的《暴风雨》。1935年秋，中国东海的一场暴风雨，让一艘正在向杭州湾航行的蒸汽船发生了事故。船上的几位重要乘客在距离事发海域不远的一个荒岛上经历了一场奇遇。这个荒岛上住着米普罗和他十七岁的女儿米兰达。米普罗原是浙江乌镇的一位著名中医，十二年前的一天夜里，他带着五岁的女儿逃到了这个荒岛上……

About Tempest from the East Sea

This adaptation of Shakespeare's Tempest is the first project developed by Culture Wuzhen's “1+1” artist residency, a program to encourage and invest in the efforts of young artists and to further the “Wuzhen Theatre Incubation Base.” Directed by Ren Ming Yang, who was a contestant in last year's Youth Competition, we unveil the efforts of this young group of artists on the final day of the Festival, as a show of Wuzhen's continued commitment to new works and new directors.

In the autumn of 1935, a tempest sweeps across the East China Sea, shipwrecking a steamship that is sailing towards Hangzhou Bay. On a remote island not far from the site of the shipwreck, several prominent passengers have quite an adventure. Prospero and his seventeen-year-old daughter Miranda live on this remote island. Once a prominent practitioner of Chinese traditional medicine in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province, Prospero and his five-year-old daughter fled to the remote island one night twelve years ago…

任明炀，生于1982年，作家、舞台剧导演、电影作者、创作歌手。16岁开始文学和音乐创作，22岁开始剧场创作，近年来亦涉足电影创作。自《昨夜的双拥路》2007年底在上海首演以来，他的一系列剧场作品：《您的口音》、《蓦然回首》、《明年的这个时候》、《乐游原》、《好好好》等，一戏一格，不落窠臼，引起了话剧界的广泛关注。

Playwright & Director: Ren Ming Young

Born in 1982, Ren Ming Young is a playwright, theatre director, filmmaker, and singer-songwriter. At the age of 16, he began creating literary and musical works. When he was 22, he began creating theatrical pieces. In recent years, he has also been involved in the creation of movies. Following the late 2007 premier of Last Night in Shuangyong Road in Shanghai, he created a succession of theatrical works, including Your Accent, Look Back Suddenly, At This Time Next Year, Le You Yuan, and Good, Better, and Best. Each and every piece has an original style, earning him widespread attention in the theatre world.
